Today marked the first full day of the WVYSC – meaning delegates had a day packed with activities!
The first event after breakfast was a lecture by Dr. Crystal Hubbard on WV Source Water Assessment & Protection. She taught delegates about the geology of surface and groundwater, then passed on tips so that everyone could work towards keeping water sources safe for future use.
Next delegates moved onto their first directed study block!
For three days groups will be doing in-depth learning about sculpture, field work, rockets, human experimentation, microbiology, book making, and forces.
Delegates also had two seminar blocks where they could participate in a range of activities from mountain biking and Ultimate to choir and soldering.
Their day was then wrapped up with lecture on Radio Astronomy by Dr. Jay Lockman.
